Legit question

as a new fan, how does one even cope with the sheer amount of Johnny’s releases? I don’t even follow Arashi because I know how futile that would be added to the other bands I follow.

Because I’m sure you didn’t know that you need this in your life. But you do. Oh yes, you DO.

Myojo June 2014 Matsushima Sou

To Marius

Since our debut, I’ve always had an awareness that Marius is my rival. Being able to speak English may be a ordinary thing for Marius, but for me, I was really jealous of that. Until my voice started changing in third year of middle school, I really liked singing. Having the highest pitch among the five of us, I thought for me that was my only redeeming quality. But I lost even that… I couldn’t help but hate my self for not having anything to call my own. In one way or another, I got compared with my symmetry partner, so I thought I also had to find my special skill, and I got flustered. With Marius, our ages and the environment we grew up in are different, so once in a while there are times when I think I our conversations don’t match. There are also times when I get irritated with him, just a little bit (laughs). But I also know that Marius thinks about the group more than anyone else. The presence of Marius, who has an international character, is Sexy Zone’s strong point. From now on as well, I look forward to working with you.

Dammit Sou, you just effectively broke my heart into a bazillion pieces. I wish MatsuSou fans in Japan flooded him with encouraging fanmail after this myojo was published. God knows the kid needs to be shown some love.

So I’ve watched the first episode of SHARK ~2nd Season~ and I must say: why put Aran as the vocalist when all we’re going to hear is Daiki? Personally I’m just not sold on Daiki’s singing, too high-pitched for me. I love Aran’s character though, and his acting is surprisingly good. He seems to look awfully similar to Fujii’s character though…I mean, is there no other hairstyle available for the vocalist? Or is it just me?

So the first ep was a disappointment for me mainly because I was hoping to hear Aran. I am, however, going to continue watching because Genki and Kaito  have yet to show up.

Apparently I am biased towards a lot of Matsu’s…like Matsu-kura Kaito, Matsu-da Genta, Matsu-mura Hokuto, and Matsu-shima Sou…perhaps even Matsu-moto Jun.

MatsuSou is really shaping up into becoming an assurance that Shori isn’t the shortest one in SZone

None of Szone’s vocals are nasal, unlike Arashi who has Aiba and Jun, NEWS with Koyama? and Shige, JUMP (has too many to mention), Kattun’s Juno, and…well, you get my drift. Although I have yet to hear Sou and Maririn singing clearly, I know Sou’s singing voice is quite deep, and Maririn’s voice hasn’t broken yet but I’m betting it won’t be too nasal either. I think Shori has a similar voice to Nino though, which is raspy. I think that’s why most of their songs sound really good (except of course when the song lyrics and music themselves are poor quality).

On a completely different note, can we all take a moment to appreciate the fact that Maririn actually pronounces his English words properly and not as Japanese English? Though I think that’s a big reason why the rest of the group tends to bully him… (aside from his being frequently effeminate of course. Well, the kid DID want to join his mom’s troupe) :|

They still have a gawd-awful name though.

MatsuMatsu Conbi both look like they are very serious performers, meaning that they are truly professional with their work and are not hesitant to walk an extra (nautical) mile or two to further improve their craft. However, I firmly believe that Gen-Gen would burst into a fanboying frenzy the moment Yamachan walks in the room. In fact, I wonder how much Yamachan-talk Kaito tolerates on a regular basis?
